The button offers firm resistance when you push it so you'll always know when you've pushed it. The light comes on too to let you know that it is on. It keeps tea at a nice warm temperature. The surface does get hot so be careful not to touch it with your bare hands and I recommend you don't touch the bottom of your mug either. I've had no issues with this purchase, thank you!

Okay, if I'm going to have an appliance like this sitting out all the time, I'd like it to be nice looking. This mug warmer fits that bill. The one quibble I have is that I'd like it to be a shade hotter so it keeps my drinks up around 160°F. This warmer keeps things at a somewhat safer, but less delightful 140°F or so (of course, all dependent on quantity of beverage, shape of mug, lidded or not, etc). The temperature really comes into play when drinking a hot tea from a taller mug, then the mug tends to radiate more heat out than the warmer puts back in. When I put my morning espresso on the warmer, it keeps the smaller amount of liquid in a short cup plenty hot. For maximum warming, the best mug to use on these warmers would make full use of the diameter of the heating plate and be not too tall, as taller, slimmer cups lose more heat than they gain.

This warmer is perfect if you sell candles or wax melts at in person markets. Since it’s USB powered, you can use a rechargeable battery packs or plug it into a laptop to get a light scent going at your booth. It took about 20 minutes to melt my soy wax melts, and I was able to notice the smell a few minutes after the wax was totally melted. I used a silicone cupcake liner to hold the wax to make sure I optimized the heat transfer from the warmer.
